The house is a 140 year-old three story stone house. It is private without being isolated. It is at the edge of a village of about 600 people that is right next to a town of 7000 people. The town has everything one would need (including a swimming pool, movie theater, tennis courts, and supermarket). The house faces the Aulne River, which is part of the Brest-Nantes Canal to the Atlantic. There is fishing in the river--and boat watching, as all boats must go past the house.
The house has a full southern exposure, modern plumbing, electricity, and central heat. It will sleep 4 adults comfortably. The house has hardwood and tile floors, 5 fireplaces, beamed ceilings, and sky-lights. The first floor has the kitchen, sitting room/den, and huge living room/dinning room. The second floor has a bedroom, study, and bathroom. The third floor has a bedroom and bathroom. There are modern showers and endless hot water. A private patio/terrace connects to the living room/dining room and faces the river.
There are ample grounds and a garden. Behind the house is open land with hills and trees (and sheep and sometimes a horse and burro). In front of the house is the canal/river and across the river is hilled farm and pasture land. There are neighbors on either side of the house--but they are not visible and are separated by cypress trees and a fence. There's a restaurant two houses away.
