Sete Cidades are probably the, or one of the most emblematic places in the island of São Miguel. Its half green, half blue lagoon is an ex libris that has crossed the world. Being at the ridge of the mountain is getting to know the immenseness of the volcano and that we are going to visit its deepness. Crossing the lagoons is entering a dimension of new things: Smells, colors, sounds, feelings. It seems that the world chats with you in ways we can’t really understand. It was not for nothing that this place was one of Portugal’s 7 wonders, because it’s not a matter of uniqueness but a transmission of energy that most places, as unique as they are, don’t have. We can site in the side of the volcano and contemplate the vast sea at the same time that, with a turn of your eyes, you can be astonished by the shade of greens that collapse in your vision. It’s that contrast (email: hidden)s in the blue and green lagoon, in perfect harmony. The beauty of nature is so perfect that you feel like rolling down those cotton like hills. We envy the cows, moving slowly, in their endless task to eat all the grass that exists. We visit the other lagoons nearby, none of them, less beautiful than the main one. We take walks amongst the azalea bushes and we adventure through the tunnel that goes to Mosteiros. We eat fresh made cheese and bread. And we never want to leave. The villas that we have in Sete Cidades are newly built, over an old house that received over three generations of family visitors
