Facilities are exclusive to clients. The Lodge is close to the historic towns of Clermont Ferrand and Vichy and the area offers a wide range of activities for all ages as well as fabulous dining from Michelin starred restaurants to family run bistros.

Ground Floor

Two kitchens/ ultility room. Both kitchens feature fridge/freezers, ovens, dishwashers and double sinks. Utility room has washing machin and tumbler dryer

Downstairs sitting room

Two optional bedrooms ( if you are renting 6 rooms) with their own small hallway connecting the bedrooms, bathroom and second toilet. This space is ideal for a family, or depending on numbers, a perfect retreat for couples only, nanny/staff or grandparents. The two rooms –Manderville and Oasis are both 3.7m by 3.4m (12ft by 11ft) with large shuttered windows facing the terrace and chateau. The bathroom, which is bigger than those upstairs has a bath with shower.


First Floor

Salon
A huge room measuring 7.5m by 5m (23ft by 16ft) with beautiful beams and lots of light. There is also a central fireplace, which in colder months gives the room a different ambience. Here, there are 3 large sofas to relax on, which, together with the other armchairs provides comfortable seating for a full house. The salon is equipped with TV/DVD/audio and a desk with phone as well as an additional fax/internet point and plus a few popular games.

Bedroom 1 – Mariner’s (3.7m by 3.1m / 12ft by 10 ft). Decorated in blue and white, this is the only twin bedded room with iron beds, that can be pushed together to make a double, or is ideal for children. As with all the bedrooms on the first floor the room has a small entrance hall with built in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, with a power shower.

Bedroom 2 – Colonial (3.8m by 3.4m/12.5ft by 11ft) with cool parchment coloured wallpaper, metal and glass furniture including a mosquito netted double iron bed.

Bedroom 3 – Oriental (3.8m by 3.4m/12.5ft by 11ft), with dark wood furniture and decorated in warm tomes of red and gold.

Bedroom 4 – Honeysuckle (3.9m by 3.4m/13 ft by 11ft) with contemporary light oak furniture, complemented by classic wallpaper and bed linen.

All six bedrooms have all-season two layer duvets, 2 pillows per person, Ralph Lauren bed linen and towels, wardrobes, hairdryers and fans. The towels supplied include generous bath sheets-in our opinion, a real must, whatever the weather!

Exterior

Immediately outside the front door is a large gravel outdoor dining terrace, complete with teak dining and seating furniture and BBQ.

On the surrounding grass are easy chairs for reclining and a children’s swing/slide play area.

The Chateau parkland leads to the river less than 50 metres away while the tennis court is situated in front of The Lodge.

The covered heated swimming pool is 3 minutes walk away on the other side of the chateau and can be accessed by a private path from The Lodge. The shallow end has steps across its width and the first few metres allow smaller children to stand up.There is a large patio area with teak steamers and cushions, complemented by a shady gazebo. The pool will only be open in High Season.

The poolhouse nearby houses a toilet and shower, as well as a drinks fridge.

The chateau parkland itself, the length of which runs alongside the Sioule river is full of mature trees – with enormous chestnut trees and a magnificent copper beech. The Sioule, is about 12 metres wide at this point, A watchtower overlooks the river, and close by is the ancient 11th century chapel. At the top of the old stone staircase, discover the ancient orchard and stroll across to the other gated entrance to the chateau.

Available Christmas and New Year, breaks at mid season prices. Availability throughout the year with flexibility in arrival/departure day.

We require an initial deposit of  50% to be sent with the booking form. This deposit will be non-returnable once the booking is confirmed by email or in writing. This deposit secures the property.

Final Payment: The full balance (50%) is payable eight weeks prior to letting when final particulars will be sent to you.
