22 Best Free Things to Do in Brooklyn Year Round
"The Brooklyn Brewery is Brooklyn's premiere craft microbrewery and one of the most renowned microbreweries in the United States, originally founded in 1988 by Steve Hindy and Tom Potter. Today, the brewery is known for its flagship pre-Prohibition-style Brooklyn Lager, along with favorites such as its hop-forward Brooklyn East IPA, unique Sorachi Ace Saison, and Shackmeister Ale, exclusively available at Shake Shack restaurants throughout the United States. Brewery tours and tastings are offered each Saturday on the hour between 1:00pm and 5:00pm, elaborating on the brewery's operations at their Williamsburg facility."

The Coolest Things to Do in Brooklyn Today (2019
"Take the L to Williamsburg and hop off at Bedford Ave and you’ll be just a couple blocks from Brooklyn Brewery. The craft brewer hosts a small batch tour that’s a must at just $18 for two hours of drinking and learning (the kind you'll actually enjoy). Book ahead—or prepare yourself for around-the-block lines if you wait—and you’ll get four very generous tastings (plus a glass that's yours to keep) of just-tapped varieties like their flagship Brooklyn Lager and farmhouse Sorachi Ace Saison, as well as seasonal pours like Brooklyn Summer Ale."

"WilliamsburgThe Brooklyn Lager is pretty iconic at this point. It’s probably the most recognized beer coming out of New York City right now, so if you’ve had any New York beer, chances are you’ve sipped this. But Brooklyn Brewery’s Williamsburg brewhouse has so much more to offer like a snappy classic pilsner, a non-alcoholic Special Effects, and their brewer’s perfect take on summer hard seltzer, Brooklyn Spritz. How to order:Pre-order or stop by the brewery"

"The home of these longtime gypsy brewers is probably the most aesthetically pleasing brewery I have ever set foot in. If you're looking to go on a beer date, this is the spot. The space might come off a bit Williamsburg-pretentious at first to a brewery traditionalist, but the beer speaks for itself."

The Best Canned, Hazy IPAs in Brooklyn
"Canning IPAs: MonthlyWhere to find them: Brewery, select retail locations. You wouldn’t expect a brewery with the lofty aspiration uniting New York City’s huge and diverse population to be located on an industrial street lined with auto repair shops in southern Brooklyn, where large crowds of customers in the area are typically found on the checkout lines at Costco, but take a trip to Five Boroughs’ colossal taproom in Sunset Park and you’ll get the sense that Kevin O’Donnell and Blake Tomnitz, who opened the business in late 2017, might be onto something. On my most recent visit, the space was percolating with a lively mix of longtime neighborhood locals, beer fiends, young families (with dogs!), and blue-collar workers enjoying the range of solid, approachable beers of brewer Nick Griffin, from the snappy Pilsner to the tart Gose and session-strength Tiny Juicy IPA. While the names of core offerings are perhaps too plain for today’s beer world, it’s the monikers and labels of limited murky IPAs, typically dropped once a month and around long enough to land with ease, that pay explicit homage to the metropolis, including Across the Narrows, Live From New York, and Insufficient Fare (don’t be tempted to “hop” that turnstile)!"

Also known as "Little Odessa" due its tight-knit Russian and Eastern European communities, Brooklyn's Brighton Beach is a lively neighborhood with many high-rise residential buildings. Traditional ethnic restaurants and food markets line Brighton Beach Avenue. The beach and boardwalk here are more laid-back than nearby Coney Island, catering largely to locals. Splashy nightclubs attract partiers in the evenings.
