The Very Best Restaurants in Seattle | seattlemet.com
"Dan Bugge’s restaurant on the second floor of Pike Place Market is the closest thing Seattle has to an essential restaurant. Named for its original owner, Matt’s effortlessly combines Seattle’s winningest charms: views over market rooftops to the bay, freshest seafood, straightforward friendliness. Current chef Matt Fortner (yep, the name is pure coincidence) has taken the globally inflected menu in a subtly Italian direction."

"Plum Bistro gets its name from the Japanese plum blossoms; as the first to bloom before winter has even melted into spring, they symbolize perseverance, hope, and new beginnings. Using this philosophy is how the restaurant approaches veganism. Making it more accessible, they hope to spread awareness of just how delicious a plant-based diet can be in order to promote a more sustainable interaction between humans and the Earth."

"If you're going to try only one vegan restaurant in Seattle, make it Plum Bistro. Offering truly innovative and delicious dishes such as Black Truffle Gnocchi and Tempeh Vermouth, you'd be hard pushed to find a plant-based menu that would impress more. Be warned, it comes with a slightly steeper price tag, but the food is worth the indulgence."

"Capitol Hill’s vegan restaurant from celebrated chef Makini Howell is as versatile as it is magnificent. Some of the biggest hits include “chicken” fried seitan, a mac ’n’ cheese spin called Mac & Yease, and sweet potato gnocchi. Takeout orders go through Toast, delivery is available via Caviar and Doordash, and there’s limited onsite dining."

The Best Outdoor Dining Spots in Seattle
"USA Today called the sensational wraparound terrace at the Edgewater Hotel “the best waterfront restaurant in Seattle.” “The view outside is amazing, especially during a summer sunset,” one OpenTable diner says. Without a doubt, the upscale atmosphere is perfect for special occasions, but Six Seven is unstuffy enough to be a locals’ meeting place. Enjoy the view over a happy hour cocktail, then dig into dishes like miso-glazed black cod and applewood-smoked pork chops."

Seattle’s Finest Italian Restaurants
"Everyone looks deadly chic against the windows and cement of this minimalist corner room in Pike/Pine, but the most seafoody of Ethan Stowell’s empire (which also includes Tavolàta, How to Cook a Wolf, Staple and Fancy, and Rione XIII) is surprisingly down-to-earth and welcoming. It’s all about the food, after all: a broad crudo menu featuring the freshest local shellfish (often swimming-that-morning oysters) and rarely seen seafood flown in from exotic offshore locales, highlighted with Italian embellishments. When the kitchen’s on, it’s off the charts, presenting wonders like Arctic char over fregola pasta with nettles, currants, and speck; and trafficking in the same acerbic, briny, and tangy flavor families that dominate dinner at his other joints."

15 Pacific Northwest Fast Food Chains the Entire Country Needs
"Where they are: Western Washington and WenatcheeWhy you need them: The first thing to know about Taco Time NW is that if you’ve been to a Taco Time anywhere besides Western Washington, you have been to a different restaurant. A weird quirk of the corporate rights means that there are two entirely separate companies, and the one we’re here to talk about is Taco Time NW. It’s a company full of weird quirks, including that it used to call its tater tots “Mexi-Fries” until sometime last year, when they abruptly (and probably rightly) stopped, and that the original White Center location is a time capsule ode to mid-century fast food restaurant architecture that you need to see to understand. But Taco Time NW is also still owned by the fourth generation of the original family, they use lots of local ingredients, and is where you’ll find the greatest fast-food innovation on the planet, the crisp bean burrito, which is more like a flauta than any burrito, with a hint of chimichanga. What to get: Mexi—excuse us, Tater-Fries and a crisp bean burrito."
