Most Beautiful NYC Buildings You Have to See Before You Die
"Designed by namesake architect Marcel Breuer (1902–1981), The Metropolitan Museum’s showcase for contemporary and modern art is the most elegant Brutalist building in NYC. Opened in 1966 as the home of the Whitney Museum, the Met Breuer’s granite-clad, inverted ziggurat form cantilevers over a sunken sculpture garden. In 2015, the Whitney decamped to its current Meatpacking District location, leasing the building to The Met for eight years."

Visit New York City's 13 Top Attractions
"The 9/11 Memorial and Museum needs no introduction or explanation. The twin reflecting pools are in the footprint of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers that were attacked on September 11, 2001, and the names of all the victims of the attacks of that day, at the Twin Towers, in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon, along with the six who died in the 1993 bombing at the World Trade Center, are on bronze panels that form the edges of the two pools. 12 Attractions You Must Not Miss in NYC
"More than any other city in America, the events of September 11th impacted New York in a way that’s still felt today. But rather than linger on the tragedy of the event, the 9/11 Memorial reflects on our healing and growth as a city following the day. A moving piece of artwork called “Reflecting Absence,” two memorial pools stand in the footprint of the towers, surrounding the museum on either side."

The Best Brooklyn One Day Itinerary for First Time Visitors
"This is a pity because we found many awesome attractions here, such as the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park, vibrant flea and food markets, an upscale neighbourhood with gorgeous Christmas decorations, an amusement park by the beach, and arguably the best pizza joint in New York! We visited New York / Brooklyn twice, once during winter in December and another time during spring in April. Therefore, we have created two Brooklyn one-day itineraries, one for winter season and another for non-winter seasons. Both winter and spring have their beauty, but if I had to choose one I would say Brooklyn is more vibrant during spring."

"On a hilltop overlooking the Hudson River, the Cloisters is a curious architectural jigsaw, its many parts made up of various European monasteries and other historic buildings. Built in the 1930s to house the Metropolitan Museum’s medieval treasures, its frescoes, tapestries and paintings are set in galleries that sit around a romantic courtyard, connected by grand archways and topped with Moorish terra-cotta roofs. Among its many rare treasures is the beguiling tapestry series The Hunt of the Unicorn (1493–1505)."
