"Google MapsFacilities: Restrooms and showersLifeguards: NoActivities: Laying out, swimming, snorkeling, and paddleboarding. Wailea Beach, which is located in front of the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea resorts, is a favorite among those visiting South Maui. Since the beach is shared by two large resorts, some of the beach is reserved for the resort’s guests, and will definitely not be empty, but there is still space for the public to enjoy (and park!)."

Adventure Itinerary: One Week in Maui, Hawaii
"Our favorite highlights are the black sand beach at Wai’anapanapa State Park and the 2-hour Pipiwai Trail located near the Pools of Ohe’o. Most people back-track up Hana Highway after visiting the Pools of Ohe’o, but we prefer continuing on Route 31 for a road trip along the backside of Haleakala (allow 2-3 hours). Around mile marker 39, the road narrows and becomes bumpy for about 10 miles. It becomes smooth again near Kaupo where you can grab drinks and a popsicle from the historic Kaupo Store."

"Pipiwai Trail—a four-mile trek through blades of whistling bamboo that supplies soaring views of the ocean, cliffs, and waterfalls. Before gearing up for the drive back to your digs, pause for a spell at Charles Lindbergh’s grave at Palapala Ho’omau Church, where the vistas of Hana’s weathered, radical coast are sure to evoke awe."

Top things to do in Maui
"Well, you can’t judge a beach by its cover. Wedged between downtown Kahului and the airport, and hidden behind a strip of ironwood trees, this mile-long stretch of sand is surf city, with scores of brilliant sails zipping across the waves. Kitesurfers converge at the southwest end, known as Kite Beach, while windsurfers head northeast. A roped-off swimming area lies in-between. Facilities include restrooms, showers and shaded picnic tables."
