Top 10 restaurants, cafes and diners in Baltimore
"You wouldn't believe it, but before Thames Street came along, in 2011, there was no place to send someone for decent seafood near the waterfront in Fells Point, which was a crying shame because everyone comes there expecting to see crabs and lobsters dancing on the cobblestone streets. So Thames Street, to its everlasting credit, filled that niche. Its best dishes traffic in fish such as hake and fluke, that are better known in New England than here in Maryland."

"Here's a story that tells you a little bit about Baltimore’s relationship with crabs. Last summer, PETA posted a billboard near Baltimore’s Shot Tower featuring a still-living crab and the message: “I’m ME, Not MEAT. See the individual. Go vegan.” In response, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, a proudly family-run operation that opened in 1974, took out a billboard of their own, near I-295."

Where to Eat in Baltimore Right Now
"The gist: Joining an already packed roster at Mount Vernon Marketplace, Fishnet was opened by Turkish-born restaurateur Ferhat Yalcin and Baltimore native Keyia Yalcin. The food: This scratch kitchen uses every part of its fresh fish, like non-filet cuts for salmon croquettes and bones for stocks, but mainstays include a towering crispy catfish sandwich and street food-inspired Baltimore Bomber that proves seafood and cheese do mix. If soft shell crab is in season, get the sandwich. Trust us.The cost: Sides (including drool-worthy mac and cheese) are $4 and mains are $9-15.How to order: Walk in or order takeout via Toast"
