"The Grand lies outside the city walls, tucked beneath the northwestern bastions. It's a curvaceous concrete block; sea-front rooms have balconies with fabulous views over Marsamxett Harbour; the less expensive..."
"The AX Seashells Resort at Suncrest is one of the larger hotels in the area, located on the Eastern side of Qawra along the coast. The hotel is known to be a good option for family holidays at reasonable prices, with good facilities and a pool/entertainment area on the coastline, across the road from the hotel itself (which can be reached via a small tunnel as well)."
St Paul's Bay
(1.2 km distance from city Qawra). Set on the seafront at St. Paul's Bay, Dolmen Hotel Malta offers panoramic sea views, a free private beach and 6 swimming pools. Its spa includes a hot tub, sauna and fitness centre."
"The Dolmen Resort Hotel is located on the coast of Buġibba and is one of the better-known hotels in the area, with good quality accommodation. With its seafront location, the hotel boasts a seaside lido with outdoor pool, which is unique to hotels in this area."
"Walk or drive west along the promenade, past the tiny sand beaches at Qbajjar Bay and the more scenic Xwieni Bay, until you reach a rocky shore. This wild and extraordinary landscape has been carved into a patchwork of salt pans. There's usually a small stall selling salt from the pans, which are owned by three families and still worked in summer."
"Made possible by BirdLife Malta, the oldest environmental organization in Malta, this reserve is located on the outskirts of Mellieha, right across from the beach and it’s a great place to learn more about the local flora and fauna, go for a short hike, do birdwatching, and look for chameleons. This is a perfect length hike for little legs–it’s a single path that’s a little under a half mile one way–and the promise of finding chameleons will keep kids very interested. We saw several chameleons every time we visited the reserve (by walking slowly and looking hard!) and the kids loved it."

Għadira Nature Reserve, nestled in the valley just behind Mellieha Bay, consists of seven hectares of brackish lake and saltmarsh habitat. Permanent water habitats like this one are quite rare on the island due to the long, hot summers."
"Stay at the home of one of Malta’s most important noble families in a 16th-century Valletta palazzo. Casa Rocca Piccola, a deeply historic home-from-home in the heart of Malta’s Unesco World Heritage capital, has five spacious rooms and suites with all the mod cons, alongside oodles of character and tradition."
